Step into history at The Lobster Trap Lounge, where the sea meets your plate under the open sky. Originally established at Shaw’s Hotel (a National Historic Site of Canada) in 1956, The Lobster Trap Lounge was the FIRST licensed bar in PEI after Prohibition ended in 1948.  Frequented by hotel guests and Islanders alike, The Lounge had a fun-filled, rich history until it closed in 2005.

Revived in 2024 at Port Charlottetown, our outdoor dining experience offers "topless" Bootlegger & Prohibition drinks, an ocean view and fresh seafood with a twist! Indulge in our ocean-to-table fare while soaking up the ambient maritime atmosphere. Open on cruise ship days May to October and available anytime for catered events, parties, group functions & more.  Contact us to book!
